Although supercar manufacturers create and engineer new models every year, few have a long-lasting impact. One of those landmark examples for McLaren Automotive is the ultra-exclusive Speedtail hypercar. With only 106 production cars worldwide, the hybrid-powered McLaren is one of the most sought-after vehicles in history. As if owning one of the 106 wasn’t rare enough, obtaining one of the 7 experimental XP test cars is even more so.
McLaren Orlando’s passionate team is proud to present this 2020 McLaren Speedtail Prototype as part of its extensive inventory of new and used supercars. This particular ‘XP’ Speedtail is significant because it is the very last example produced, as well as the last one registered by an owner.
The exterior has a magical gloss black finish with actual 24k gold dust incorporated to give it a shimmering appearance. The Speedtail features matching gold pinstriping that contrasts with its stealth-like paint. To ensure its authenticity, the front logo plate is made of solid refined 24k gold and bears a registered mint mark. Inside, genuine leather layers mimic the black and gold colour scheme. Its central driver seat is a nod to the legendary McLaren F1.
The Speedtail represents the pinnacle of McLaren engineering, with an unrivalled hybrid powertrain. The 4.0-Liter Twin-Turbocharged V8 engine includes a battery borrowed from McLaren Formula E, which produces an astounding 312 horsepower on its own. With a combined 1,035 horsepower and 848 ft-lbs of torque, the Speedtail accelerates from 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds thanks to a cutting-edge 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. (psm-marketing.com)
