Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2021 S-Class in India at starting price of Rs.2.17 Crore.
The 2021 Mercedes S-Class has teased a year ago with plenty of new updates over the previous generation models. Mercedes has introduced the saloon as “the most advanced S-Class ever’. The company claims that the 7th gen of flagship S-class is not only about the all-new technology but also about the driving experience.
The New S-Class will continue its rival to the Audi A8 and BMW 7 series but it’s a bit expensive when compared to the pricing they offer. The Audi A8 currently costs ₹1.58 crore and the BMW 7-series costs ₹ 1.38 Crore and goes up to ₹ 2.46 Crore. On the other hand, the S-Class price starts at ₹2.17 crore for diesel and ₹2.19 crore for the petrol
Here are some new updates that have been for the first time on S-class ever.
1. Mercedes-Benz User Experience
The NTG7 MBUX(Mercedes-Benz User Experience) will debut in the Mercedes S-Class which is specially made of the 7th gen saloon. Mercedes Claims that the MBUX has 50% more computing power than models available in the previous models. The car has five screens in the cabin which according to Mercedes is a benchmark for the interface between Driver, Passenger, and the vehicle.
2. Frontal Airbag
The new Mercedes S-class gets first in the world frontal airbags for the rear two passengers on the outer rear seats. Frontal airbags are implemented to minimize the the loads acting on the heads and necks which is make the sedan more safer.

3. Rear Axle steering
The 7th gen S-class will implement Rear Axle steering which is usually seen on supercars. German Automaker says that the steering angle at the rear axel is up to 4.5 degrees, adding to mobility and readiness in difficult situations. What’s more, it likewise presents dealing with profits by an all-inclusive wheelbase at higher rates.
4. Portrait OLED head unit
The all-new portrait OLED head unit can be seen in the all-new S-class. Which now provides a 64% larger screen area for a better User Interface. We can clearly see the new design of the instrument cluster which now 12.3-inches. And the other screen used in the cabin also seems perfect.
5. Seamless door handles
The new S-Class gets all-new seamless door handles that are the first time ever on an S-Class. The handles get activated when the driver approaches to the outer surface of the door leading to electrical extension of the handles.
