The second-generation Audi Q7 facelift is slated to debut in January 2022, according to German luxury vehicle maker Audi. The most significant improvement for the Q7 facelift destined for India will be a new BS6 compliant six-cylinder petrol engine.
The new Q7 will be equipped with a 2,995cc V6 twin-turbocharged petrol engine that produces 335bhp at 5,200rpm and 500Nm of torque at 1,370rpm and 4,500rpm. It’s also worth noting that the Q7 shares the same powerplant as the A8L, A6, and Q8. Due to the strict BS6 regulations, the second-generation Q7 was withdrawn from the Indian market. It was equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine.
The petrol engine in the Q7 facelift produces 90bhp more than the previous diesel engine. It delivers 100Nm less torque than the diesel engine, though. The new Q7 is also faster in terms of acceleration, going from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in 5.6 seconds. The 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine is interestingly combined with a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
Meanwhile, Audi is rumoured to be offering two models of the new Q7. There will most likely be a few new features as well. The Q7 facelift will compete with the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Land Rover Discovery, and Volvo XC90 when it debuts.
