New Mahindra Scorpio Spied in Final Testing

The second-generation Mahindra Scorpio is already creating buzz around and now the upcoming SUV was spied testing near Pune. The upcoming Mahindra SUV will use the same updated ladder frame chassis which can also be seen on XUV 700 and Thar. This also suggests that the Scorpio will be built on the same production line.

Mahindra Scorpio Design

The SUV will witness comprehensive cosmetic changes with new body panels and feature upgrades. Similar to the new-gen Mahindra Scorpio will have bold character lines running along the sides including a prominent kink on the rear door. Also, some prominent change has been made at the front and the rear end. In fact, some of its elements will be designed to meet pedestrian safety standards. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio has been conceptualized and designed at Mahindra’s North American Technical Centre in Detroit, United States. Its engineering and development procedure took place at the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai.

Mahindra Scorpio Powertrain

As per the reports suggests the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be offered with 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines. While the gasoline unit is likely to deliver power close to 150bhp, the engine will be good for 155bhp with 360Nm. There will be two gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The SUV will be offered with the optional AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.

Mahindra Scorpio Interior and Features

The major attraction of the car will be a new touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The SUV will also a newly-designed dashboard, dual-tone leatherette upholstery, vertically stacked air-con vents with piano black finish, an analogue instrument console with a digital multi-information display, 4 roofs mounted speakers, a 360-degree parking camera, rear AC vents, dual-zone climate control, engine start/stop button, C-type USB charging ports and many more goodies. The all-new Mahindra Scorpio will have more advanced safety fitments which will have an impact on the design.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio Price And Launch

Previously, a convey of 7-8 near-production Scorpio was spied on the tough terrains of Leh-Manali highway. The new-gen SUV is scheduled to launch in early 2022. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio Price is expected to start at around Rs. 12 Lakh and go up to Rs.17 Lakhs for the higher trims.

The design and specs on the car indicated that the car will directly rival Hyundai’s most selling SUV the All-new Hyundai Creta in every aspect. The car will also get the tough computation from Tata’s new-gen Safari which turned out to be Tata’s one of most selling products since its launch. The SUV will also compete with Volkswagen group latest MQB platform which has been used in All-New Skoda Kushaq and the Latest launch from the company the Volkswagen Taigun
