Skoda Slavia Launch In March 2022
Skoda Auto India has begun serial manufacturing of the Skoda Slavia, the company’s forthcoming small car. The new Slavia is the company’s second vehicle to be built on the company’s localised MQB A0-IN platform, which also underlies the Skoda Kusahq small SUV. It is set to debut in March 2022. The Slavia will be built at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s facility in Chakan, Maharashtra, and will be 95 percent locally produced. According to Skoda, the Slavia was designed with the Indian market in mind.
Skoda Slavia Production Begins In India

Christian Cahn von Seelen, Chairman of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited, commented on the news, saying, “Today, with the production rollout of the Skoda Slavia, we are igniting the next stage of our INDIA 2.0 product campaign. The Slavia is a strong testament of our intent and capability in the Indian market. The Slavia will not only provide a boost to the premium sedan segment but will also showcase Skoda Auto’s expertise, pedigree and legacy with sedans in terms of design, packaging, dynamics, technology and value.”
Skoda Slavia Design And Features
The Skoda Slavia is a five-door sedan with a coupe-style roofline. The automobile has a length of 4,541 mm, a width of 1,752 mm, and a height of 1,487 mm, as well as a best-in-class wheelbase of 2,651 mm. Skoda’s iconic butterfly grille with vertical slats and broad chrome borders, LED headlights with LED DRLs, and sporty multi-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels are among the exterior features. For the airdam, the car also gets an aggressive-looking bumper with a broad mesh-pattern grille. The Slavia’s trademark C-shaped LED taillamps, which are separated into two halves and extend into the boot lid, are found at the back.
Skoda Slavia Interiors
Inside, the Slavia gets a newly designed cabin with round air vents, a horizontal decorative trim strip in a contrasting colour, and embossed wordmarks on the binnacle. The car also comes with a 10-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the new signature two-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, and a fully digital 8-inch instrument cluster. The car also gets ventilated front seats, wireless charger, auto day/night IRVM, touch-control Climatronic with Air Care function, rear AC vents and more. The infotainment system will be offered as standard, and the top-end Style trim will also get MySKODA Connect mobile online services. As for safety, the car gets up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBS, ESC, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking camera and sensors, and more.
Skoda Slavia Engine Options
The Slavia will be available in three trim levels: Active, Ambition, and Style, with two engine choices: a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI. The former produces 113 horsepower and 175 Nm of peak torque, and it’s paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic torque converter as an option. The larger 1.5-litre engine produces 148 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and is available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The 1.0-liter is likely to be available in all three trim levels, but the 1.5 TSI will only be available in Style.
