The model was apparently listed briefly in the online Z06 visualizer at Chevy’s website.
Modern technology can be wonderful, but it can also be annoying at times. We imagine that’s a subject of conversation in some GM offices right now, since leaked photographs of what may be a 2023 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition purportedly came straight from Chevrolet.
Very early on January 21, a MidEngineCorvetteForum member with the username jagamajajaran shared a plethora of images showing a dressed-up C8 Z06 with 70th Anniversary badges. According to the post, the images were posted free and clear at Chevrolet’s online Z06 visualizer, which has been up for some time. Not only that, some information regarding the special model was listed as well. The images and information reportedly came down pretty quickly, and the Z06 visualizer is no longer showing on Chevrolet’s website. Motor1.com contacted the automaker asking for information and confirmation on the images, but we’ve yet to receive a response.
We’ve included a couple of the photographs in our gallery above; more can be found on the forum, but the bottom line is that it’s a cosmetic package for white or black Z06 cars. The use of over-the-top stripes is optional, however red brake calliper trim and Carbon Flash wheels are included. Carbon Flash is also on the mirrors and the spoiler, and there’s 70th Anniversary badging on the exterior and interior. White GT2 seats with red seat belts and a suede steering wheel are among the other interior details. That is, apparently, as none of this has been verified.
Production of the 2023 Corvette should begin in early May, barring supply problems or a potential strike at the Corvette assembly factory. We don’t know if Z06 manufacturing will begin at the same time, and we don’t know how many of the anniversary model will be produced. Pricing for any Z06 is unknown at this time, however Chevrolet officials have indicated that it may start around $90,000.
