2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R vs Ram TRX // DRAG RACE & OFF-ROAD RACE

Friends, the time has finally come. When we find out which of the two most powerful and hard-core trucks available on the North American market is quicker in a drag race. This may not be necessary for many people, but for Ford and Ram, it is an issue of honor.

The numbers are fairly outstanding for both contestants when it comes to contests like this. The supercharged 5.2-liter V8 in the Ford F-150 Raptor R produces 700 horsepower (522 kilowatts) and 640 pound-feet (867 Newton-meters) of torque at 4,250 rpm. That Predator V8 is the same one that powers the Mustang Shelby GT500, but in this application, the 2.65-liter supercharger is equipped with a smaller pulley that measures 74 millimetres as opposed to 80 millimetres. Thus, the Raptor R and GT500 produce different amounts of energy.

Since the Raptor R’s introduction, almost everyone has pointed out how underpowered it is compared to the Ram TRX. Ram even made light of this fact, despite the fact that there is only a 2 horsepower differential between the two trucks (1.47 kW). Ram’s hardcore truck is without a doubt the undisputed king of power in the off-road muscle truck sector, and the TRX likewise peaks at 650 lb-ft (881 Nm). In drag races like this one, the Raptor R’s 400-pound (181-kilogram) weight advantage may be crucial.

Before beginning the actual race, we’d want to make one more intriguing comparison. The starting pricing for the F-150 Raptor R is $109,415 in the US and $146,005 in Canada. In contrast, the TRX is substantially less expensive, with prices beginning at $78,790 in the US and $108,790 in Canada. Which one, though, is faster?
