65 Tata Electric Cars To Be Supplied To Kerala’s Electricity Board

Tata Motors has won a contract for 65 electric vehicles from the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) as part of a tender arrangement (60 Tigor EVs and 5 Nexon EVs). This order is part of a competitive pan-India tender launched by KSEB in support of the state’s 2030 objective to “Go Green/Carbon Neutral.”

Tata Motors is leading the way in proactively promoting the adoption of electric mobility in the country, with an 85 percent market share (YTD FY22) and over 15,000 Tata EVs on the road to date. Tata Motors, in collaboration with other Tata Group firms such as Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Auto Components, Tata Motors Finance, and Croma, is trying to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India through their EV ecosystem known as the “Tata uniEVerse.”

With a 4-star G-NCAP rating, the Tigor EV is unquestionably India’s safest electric sedan. Technology is one of three main product pillars. It’s equipped with a superlative powertrain, infotainment, and connected technologies, and it’s setting new standards for everyone. The Tigor EV has a 26-kWh high energy density Lithium-ion battery pack and has a peak power output of 55 kW and a peak torque of 170 Nm, with a 0 to 60 kmph time of 5.7 seconds, making for a zippy and entertaining drive for all occupants. Ziptron technology achieves excellent performance by using an energy-efficient motor that provides constant torque from start to finish, resulting in a ‘zippy’ driving experience. On a single charge, the Nexon EV, an aspirational SUV, provides a worry-free long range (ARAI approved range of 312km) with zero emissions. It has a high-capacity 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery with a powerful and high-efficiency 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor. The EV has a dust and waterproof battery pack that satisfies IP67 requirements, which is the finest in the industry. It also includes 35 Mobile Apps with connected capabilities such as remote controls, car tracking, driving behaviour analytics, navigation, and remote diagnostics.
