Lamborghini Sold More Cars In Q1 2022 Than Entire 16-Year Countach Run

We could be looking at another successful year for Lamborghini, thanks to the Urus.

Lamborghini announces its first-quarter 2022 vehicle sales figures. It’s the company’s most successful quarter to date.

According to the press release, the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based company delivered 2,539 automobiles worldwide in the first three months of the year. In the same period in 2021, the figure was up 5%, while in 2020, it was up 31%. Lamborghini set a new record for sales in 2021, selling 8,405 units.

It’s a record-breaking number, even surpassing the sales of the entire 16-year run of the original Lamborghini Countach. The Italian brand built nearly 2,000 units of the Countach from 1974 to 1990.

Every month, the number of orders we receive exceeds our capacity. Currently, we have enough to cover more than a year’s worth of production. In addition, we’re gearing up for a new chapter in the Lamborghini story in just over a year, when the new V12 hybrid model arrives in 2023, ushering in a new era of electrification “Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann stated.

During the first quarter, sales were evenly spread throughout the three macro-regions of EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa, 40 percent), America (32 percent), and Asia Pacific (32 percent) (28 percent). Except for Russia, where the company has suspended operations due to the continuing conflict, almost all markets saw growth.

For the second half of the year, Lamborghini has three new models planned: two for the Urus and one for the Huracan. The Huracan Tecnica was just unveiled at the 2022 New York Auto Show.
