Akshay Kumar Arrive in Mercedes V-Class 220D Gaiety Galaxy to promote Ram Setu

Bollywood and high-end cars go hand in hand. It comes as no surprise that Bollywood celebrities own some of the most exotic vehicles in the country. Despite being prohibitively expensive to own and maintain, these vehicles frequently serve as a fashion statement for celebrities. Because of the supreme comfort and luxury that these four-wheelers provide, luxury vehicles are the first choice of Bollywood stars. While luxury SUVs and sedans are popular among celebrities, few take the risk of purchasing something unique and out of the ordinary, such as a luxury MPV. So, in a YouTube video by ‘Cars For You,’ we came across Akshay Kumar’s Mercedes Benz V-Class.

Akshay Kumar’s Mercedes Benz V-Class V220d

Mercedes-Benz V-Class was introduced in India in 2019 at a starting price of 68.40 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top-of-the-line trim costing approximately Rs.1.1 crore (ex-showroom). The V-Class Marco Polo was later introduced at the 2020 Auto Expo, with prices ranging from Rs. 1.38 crore to Rs. 1.46 crore (ex-showroom). Akshay Kumar, one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actors, owns a top-of-the-line 2019 model V-Class V220d Elite model finished in Brilliant Silver paint. The superstar was spotted arriving at a multiplex in Mumbai to promote his film Ram Setu, which will be released on October 25th, 2022.

In terms of the V-Class, it has now been phased out of the Indian market. The MPV is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.1-litre four-cylinder OM651 turbo diesel engine producing 163 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. It’s paired with a 7G Tronic automatic transmission, while the top-spec Elite has a 9-speed automatic.

Mercedes-Benz offered three V-Class variants in India, as well as 6 and 7-seater configurations. The three models are Expression, Exclusive, and Elite, with the Marco Polo being a camper van version of the luxury MPV. The Expression was 4895 mm long, while the Exclusive and Elite were 5140 and 5370 mm long, respectively. Steel Blue, Selenite Grey, Graphite Grey Dark, Brilliant Silver, Obsidian Black, Cavansite Blue, and Rock Crystal White are among the seven colors available for the V-Class.

The V-Class was geared toward luxury, with features such as armchair style fully adjustable 2nd-row seats, an electrically sliding door, a 640 W 15 speaker Burmester Surround Sound System, two-zone climate control air conditioning, adaptive suspension, ambient lighting, Nappa leather upholstery, a dual panoramic roof, ventilated seats, fully adjustable powered seats with memory function, a 3.2-litre refrigerator compartment, and a turbine inspired engine. Active parking assist with a 360-degree camera, adaptive brake lights, Pre-Safe occupant protection system, 6 airbags, and attention assist are among the safety features available on the V-Class.
