All-new fourth-generation Hyundai Verna spotted testing

Following the introduction of all-new automobiles such as the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus, as well as the fifth-generation Honda City, the Hyundai Verna has begun to feel the heat of increased competition. In South Korea, a brand-new fourth-generation Hyundai Verna is already taking shape, and it is expected to arrive in India shortly.

While AutoSpy saw the new Verna in South Korea, the test mule was totally hidden by dark-colored covers. However, certainly noticeable design inspirations will make their way into the fourth-generation Verna’s India-spec version as well. Hyundai’s new sensuous sportiness’ design language will be applied to the new Verna, which will be the brand’s next major model. The new Verna will have a new ‘parametric’ front grille with angular edges and double-layered all-LED headlamps as part of this design change.

A longer wheelbase and length, fastback-like style with a slightly rounded roofline, and clear-lens design for the LED tail lamps adjoined with a reflective strip are further design characteristics visible from the test mule found. The new Verna, like the worldwide revised Hyundai Elantra, will have sharper creases on the door panels, though they will not be visible. As of currently, no information regarding the interior is known.

Fourth-Generation Hyundai Verna Engine

The current engine lineup will most likely be retained under the hood of the new Hyundai Verna. It means that the new Verna will be available with two engine options: a 1.5-liter four-cylinder normally aspirated petrol engine with 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque (115 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque). Given how high Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus have lifted the bar, the 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine may be replaced with a larger 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which delivers 140 PS and 242 Nm in the already available Hyundai Creta.

Despite the fact that the Verna was only renovated in 2020 with a slew of minor cosmetic tweaks, a few new amenities, and all-new engine options, it is currently trailing in the race among the newly reborn luxury compact sedans. This fresh facelift is exactly what the Hyundai Verna needs to get back on track. This new version of the Hyundai Verna will be launched worldwide by the end of 2022, and it is expected to arrive in India in 2023. The new Verna will compete against vehicles such as the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia, all of which have recently been revised.
