Land Rover built a complex new platform specifically for the Defender, name it as D7X. Previous SUV’s are based on the ladder frame while the latest one is based on the Monocoque chassis. The ladder frame is meant for off-roading but Monocoque are meant for comfortable ride.
Under the hood, Defender is powered by 2.0litre petrol engine that are capable of max power output of 292hp and 400nm of peak torque, a more powerful 3.0-litre petrol engine that produces 394 bhp of max power and a peak torque output of 550 Nm. Then there is also 3.0-litre diesel engine that produces 296 bhp of max power and a peak torque output of 650 Nm.
