AC Schnitzer has decades of tuning BMWs and is displaying a full suite of parts for the i4 EV. Because the sporty coupe is electric, the company is unable to modify the engine and exhaust as usual. Instead, it focuses on suspension and styling improvements.

The parts include new springs that lower the ride height of the vehicle. With the components installed, the i4’s front is 0. (hitechgazette) 78 inch (20 millimetres) lower, and the rear is 0.98 inch lower (25 millimeters).

The company also sells a variety of parts that enhance the appearance of the i4’s body. There’s an extended front splitter and a canard that integrates into a lower fascia element. AC Schnitzer sells larger versions of horizontal trim pieces that connect to the outlet behind the front wheels. A subtle roof spoiler connects to the top. Buyers can also opt for a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and winglets that attach to the tail’s corners.

AC Schnitzer offers two wheel designs for the i4. Its AC4 design features five pairs of spokes that taper inward at the rim and is available in silver-and-black or all-black finishes. The AC1 has five slimmer dual spokes and comes in a silver-and-anthracite colour scheme or all-anthracite.

The company also provides a few minor cabin modifications. Aluminum trim pieces are available for the pedals, footrest, iDrive system controller cover, and keyholder.

BMW recently announced the addition of the entry-level eDrive35 grade to the i4 lineup in the United States. The main difference is a smaller battery with a usable capacity of 66 kilowatt-hours, as opposed to 81.5 kWh in the eDrive40 model. The eDrive35’s estimated range is 260 miles (418 kilometres), compared to 301 miles (484 kilometres) for the eDrive40.

The eDrive35 has a power output of 281 horsepower (210 kilowatts) and a torque output of 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters). In comparison, the eDrive40 has 335 hp (250 kW) and 317 lb-ft of torque (430 Nm).

Prices for the eDrive35 start at $52,395 after the $995 destination fee. Deliveries begin in early 2023.
