Facelifted MG ZS EV Launched at Rs. 22 Lakh

The ZS EV, India’s first electric SUV, has been modified by MG Motors. The facelifted version of the ZS EV has been unveiled, with a price tag of Rs 22 lakh ex-showroom. The standard Excite variant, on the other hand, will be released in July 2022. The top-of-the-line model costs Rs 26 lakh, and deliveries will begin soon. Only one trim level is offered for the new MG ZS EV.

MG ZS EV: What’s New

The India-spec version of the MG ZS EV facelift will get a revised front fascia, similar to the worldwide version of the facelifted model. This revised front end features a closed grille with the charging port now located on the left side of the MG emblem on the grille.

The all-LED headlamps, which are shared with the recently released MG Astor, are also all-new, with sharper daytime running LEDs. The revised bumper, which has chrome inserts throughout its width at the bottom, is also new to the MG ZS EV’s front look.

The new 17-inch machined alloy wheels with an upgraded five-spoke design are the only changes to the MG ZS EV facelift’s side appearance.

The ‘electric’ emblem remains to be displayed on the front fender of the ZS EV. MG now offers a new set of LED tail lamps that are quite similar to those found on the Astor. It will keep its massive panoramic sunroof, making it the only electric SUV with this feature for the time being.

Gets a Longer Range

A larger 50.3 kWh battery pack will be included in the new ZS EV makeover. It will take the place of the 44 kWh unit in the previous model. The ZS EV now gets a new, more powerful powertrain from MG. It now has a maximum power output of 176 PS.

The ZS EV can now go 461 kilometres instead of 419 kilometres thanks to the increased battery pack (claimed). MG will keep its fast-charging system on the market. The specific charging times for the new ZS EV have yet to be published by MG.

MG ZS EV gets New Features

New ADAS functions that are available with the Astor were supposed to be added by MG. However, it’s likely that MG abandoned this in favour of a longer range. The new ZS EV comes with a larger 10-inch display and a 360-degree camera. A blind-spot warning system is also included in the vehicle. For a more comfortable trip, the rear passengers get additional conveniences such as rear AC vents.
