It is a very tough fight to invent, test and prove your mettle before your competitor does it. Today, we will take a look at some of the fastest street-legal cars in the world in 2022:-
1. Hennessey Venom F5
Starting the list with the Venom F5. This ultra-limited sports car (only 24 units) gets a 6.6-litre V8 engine that generates up to 1817 HP and 1617 Nm of torque. It can hit 0-60 mph in less than three seconds. The F5 mode will push the engine to its limits for maximum performance. Its theoretical top speed is 311 mph. The top speed test is not yet done, but if this turns out to be real, then the F5 would be sitting right next to the Bugatti and Koenigsegg on the list of the fastest street-legal cars in the world.

2. Koenigsegg Jesko
Speaking of Koenigsegg, here’s their entrant on the list; the Jesko. It is named after the Father of Christian von Koenigsegg, the founder of Koenigsegg Automotive AB. It gets power from a 5.1 litre twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 1281 HP and 1000 Nm on normal gasoline. If E85 biofuel is used, the power raises to 1603 HP and torque gets a 500 Nm boost. The car is also a limited production model, with only 125 units to be made. The claimed top speed of the Jesko ‘Absolut’ model is 330 mph.
3. Bugatti Chiron Super Sport
The only car on the list which has a proven top speed of 300+ mph is the Chiron Super Sport. Bugatti Test driver Andy Wallace achieved a top speed of 304.77 mph in a pre-production Chiron Super Sport 300+ prototype. Its production model has a limited top speed of 271 mph. For the speed-beating car, Michelin had to design tires that will sustain 300 mph speed. Its engine got modifications to generate 1578 HP power output without altering the gearbox and AWD system. It IS the fastest street-legal car in the world in 2022.

4. SSC Tuatara
The SSC Tuatara is the successor to the Ultimate Aero, which once was the fastest street-legal car in the world. It did beat Bugatti for that purpose. The Tuatara gets power from a twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 1750 HP. The company claims that it hit 331.15 mph and averages 316.11 mph across two runs. This claim put SSC into hot water as all the pieces of evidence slowly went against them. Hence, the CEO of SSC North America has stated that they will attempt another top speed run with Tuatara. Hope it at least reaches the mark SSC has been claiming.
5. Devel Sixteen
Now coming to the fastest street-legal cars in the world 2022, the Devel Sixteen. Its insane top speed of 347 mph is record-shattering. The Devel Sixteen currently aims at breaking the next speed standard of 350 mph. The car is a mid-engine, four-wheel-drive model. It gets power from a Quad-turbo 12.3 Litre V16 engine that makes 3006 HP and 3260 Nm on the top model. The base model gets a V8 engine that makes 1500-2000 HP, which is an astonishing feat in itself.
