The Hyundai Alcazar is revealed before it’s official launch in the Indian market. Earlier it was showcased through a set of images in light camouflage. The 7-seat premium SUV from Hyundai is based on the same platform as of Creta the mid-size SUV of the company. Though based on the same platform there are number of differences between these two models. So let’s compare them !

Hyundai Alcazar Vs Creta : Design

Hyundai has reworked on its platform to give Alcazar a 150 mm longer wheelbase than the Creta. This provides more room for the third row of seats. With all three rows in place, the Alcazar has 180-litres of boot space. Alcazar do share similar cosmetic trends as the Creta. The model gets a unique different-looking grille with diamond-studded pattern and a slightly altered front bumper design. It gets all new stylish rear end featuring wraparound taillights. Hyundai offers it in both 6-seat and 7-seat layout. Alcazar is equipped with a set of 18-inch alloy wheels. Moreover it looks like the most popular compact SUV Creta, yet Alcazar gets some new stylish features.

Engine and drivetrain

Hyundai offers it with both petrol and diesel engine option. The 2.0 litre petrol engine provides 157 bhp and 191 Nm of torque. Whereas the diesel engine is same as the Creta, a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 115hp and 250Nm, though it is tuned differently. Both engines are available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Closure
The Alcazar will make its debut in India in April and the price of the car will be announced by May of this year. It will directly rival with the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV500. The premium SUV tries to get a edge over its competitors in tems of Design and features. Will it be a hit or miss ? only time will tell.
