Kia India Cars Sales January 2022

Kia India increased their sales by 1.4 percent in January 2022, selling 19,319 vehicles. With 11,483 units sold, the Kia Seltos remains the bestselling model in the Korean automaker’s lineup, accounting for 59.44% of total sales. In January 2022, the Kia Seltos was also ranked among the top ten best-selling cars in the country. The Kia Sonet subcompact SUV stayed in second place in the brand’s lineup and had a significant role in sales. When the Kia Carens MPV goes on sale in India, Kia India expects sales to pick up even more.

Postive Start For Kia India

Hardeep Brar, Kia India’s VP and Head of Sales and Marketing, stated, “We are kick-starting the new year with positive sales growth and a new product on offering for our discerning Indian customers. The month of January has been truly overwhelming for us, with our newest offering Kia Carens, receiving a record response with 7,738 bookings in just 24 hours. We are excited by the market reaction, as all of our offerings have been consistently performing well on a month-on-month basis. We are confident that introduction of our three-row recreational vehicle the Kia Carens, will strengthen our position in the Indian automotive industry.”

MoM And YoY Analysis

On a month-over-month (MoM) basis, the Korean automaker saw a solid 147.77 percent increase, but that’s mostly owing to a low base in December 2021, when the business sold only 7,797 units, claiming a chip shortage as the main cause for the dip in sales. In the country’s last 30 months of sales, the brand has sold roughly 3.9 lakh units.
