2021 Land Rover Discovery Facelift – Launch in India Soon

Jaguar Land Rover India has listed the 2021 Discovery Facelift on its official website. This hints at the launch of the updated model in India Soon. The website has also given the specifications and features of the upcoming SUV. Let’s take a look at the details:-

2021 Land Rover Discovery Facelift : Under The Hood

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery Facelift will come with three engine options. Two engines are petrol and one is a diesel engine option. A 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 296 bhp power and 400 Nm torque will come with the P300 variant. The P360 Variant will get a 3.0-litre petrol engine with a mild-hybrid motor producing a combined output of 355 bhp power and 500 Nm torque. The D300 variant will get power from a 3.0-litre diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology which will produce a total of 296 bhp power and 650 Nm torque. However, All models get an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive as standard. The D300 variant can go from 0-100 kmph in 6.8 seconds whereas the P300 and P360 variants can go 0-100 kmph in 7.3 seconds and 6.5 seconds respectively.

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery Facelift : Exterior

The Facelift gets an updated front end with matrix LED headlamps, new front bumper while the side profile gets new 19-inch to 21-inch alloy wheels. There will be an optional panoramic sunroof. At the back, the design is enhanced with pair of reworked taillamps with bolder LED elements. The discovery badge has now shifted to new black trim interconnecting tail lights. There is also a new R-dynamic trim that provides gloss black treatment to several trim elements. Also, there are unique triple slats inside air curtains of the front bumper for the R-dynamic models.

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery Facelift : Interior

The biggest change in the interior of the new 2021 discovery facelift is its tablet-style 11.4-inch touch display. The New Pivi Pro infotainment system has been taken from recent JLR models. Similarly, the air-con panel gets restyled touch controls too. The new four-spoke steering is inspired by the one in the new reborn Defender. Furthermore, the gear knob has become more conventional and stubby. According to the company, the second-row seats now provide better lateral and thigh support. The AC vents get a change of location from the B-Pillars to the central console to achieve better ventilation.

Features and Safety

The 2021 Discovery facelift uses Land Rover’s new ‘Electronic Vehicle Architecture (EVA 2.0)’. It comes with features such as wireless charging, optional heads-up display, 12.3-inch virtual entertainment console, 360-degree camera, air purifier and heated seats. There is a 700W 14-speaker music system in the car which comes from Meridian. It also comes with safety features such as eight airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist, Driver Condition Monitoring and Wade Sensing.

Variants and Expected Price

Furthermore, the new 2021 Discovery facelift will be available in 12 colours and six variant options. The Variant options include S, SE, HSE, R-dynamic S, R-dynamic SE and R-dynamic HSE. The expected price is expected to start from around Rs. 80 Lakh, ex-showroom. Meanwhile, Land Rover India currently offers a pre-facelift discovery in the Indian market. Its price ranges from Rs. 75.59-87.99 Lakh (Ex-showroom). However, We expect the new model to launch in the Indian market somewhere around June 2021.
