Last Ford Car Rolls Out From Sanand Plant Gujarat

One of the oldest foreign brand who started manufacturing their car in India since 1995 in the last month Ford offically announced the India exit. Since then Ford is busy wrapping up the India setup although it’s one of the oldest car brand who enter into the Indian car market still failed to sustain Indian market.

American gaint, Ford Motor Co, that till recently manufactured 5 models locally had a meagre 1.7 percent market share in the passenger vehicle segment. These five cars were EcoSport, Figo, Freestyle, Endeavour and Aspire. Of these, EcoSport was its best-selling model and most exported car from India.

Though Ford announced the exit in India but the company won’t stop completely it’s completely functional but definitely in the small capacity of production. On the previous day’s the the available / stocked parts coming to an end – the production has also come to an end at Sanand plant. According to the media sources the last Ford car were rollout yesterday from the Sanand Plant Gujarat, India.

Sanand Plant manufacturing facility were used by Ford Motors Co. for building a Figo, Aspire and Freestyle untill now. In Indian Automobile Industry these are the most selling segment and Ford were targeting the cars such as Maruti Swift & Dzire, however this cars are the ruleing car in the segment where they generate the combined sales of approximately 40k units in single month. But, Ford never ever managed to compete with Maruti twins in sales.

Overall, Ford never tried unique and understand the Indian consumer rather than focusing on the Rivals product they should have focused on some no ruled segment and can be the pioneer of the segment. This 25 years experienced Indian industry has lot to learn from newbee in the Auto Industry such as MG & KIA. How both the brand brand dominated the entire sales and become successful with just one product with no experience.
