Lynk & Co The Next Day Concept Debuts to Preview New Design Language

Lynk & Co, a premium and high-tech automobile brand owned by China’s Geely, already has an electrified vehicle range on the market in Asia and a few European markets, and the firm is now ready to look into the future. A new concept from the manufacturer was unveiled in China during the Spring/Summer Conference, and it previews Lynk & Co’s new design direction.

The concept shown in the gallery below is dubbed “a new energy four-door GT” by the manufacturer and has a big futuristic-looking liftback with suicide doors. The slim vertical headlamps on the front end stick to the company’s current design language, but the remainder of the fascia is completely new. The radiator grille is an angular plate that is bordered by two large sharp air holes in the bumper. Hidden sensors are installed in the lower area of the bumper.

The idea appears edgy and strong from the side, with wide wheel arches concealing aerodynamically-optimized alloy wheels. With a coast-to-coast LED bar connecting the minimalist taillights, the roofline morphs into a sleek and sporty-looking rear end. The rear bumper has a diffuser that is identical in shape to the front bumper lip. From the bonnet to the middle of the rear fascia, a huge panoramic glass roof fills the region.

The odd-looking yoke working as a steering wheel, which features a small integrated display, is undoubtedly the highlight of the interior. It functions as an instrument cluster screen, while on the centre section of the dashboard there’s a large display for the infotainment system. A floating centre console creates a roomy atmosphere in the cabin, where four individual seats are placed.

Lynk & Co is tight-lipped about the technical specifications of the concept, though it is reportedly powered by a plug-in hybrid system. A combustion engine is connected to the front wheels, while an electric motor is responsible for the rear axle. The exact performance and efficiency figures are not known, though.
