Mahindra BEV Range India Will Be Showcased On 10 February

Mahindra BEV Range India Will Be Showcased On 10 February

Mahindra exhibited five electric car prototypes in August 2022 at its design lab in the United Kingdom. These EVs will be manufactured under two electric sub-brands, XUV and BE, and will go on sale in December 2024. Mahindra is now preparing to unveil these concepts in India on February 10th.

The XUV line will be an electric version of the current SUVs, whilst the BE range will be designed from the ground up and will be supported by the INGLO skateboard platform. Mahindra will collaborate on this architecture with Volkswagen’s MEB platform.

The XUV name will be used to launch the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9, the former of which will most likely be an electric version of the XUV700 and will arrive in December 2024. The BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09 BEV models will be available. Each car will feature a unique body shape and battery capacity ranging from 60kWh to 80kWh, with fast charging support of up to 175kW. The BEVs will also come with AWD, driving modes, and ADAS technology. The BE line will be available in October 2025.

Mahindra’s born electric line will also have edge-to-edge displays, three 12.3-inch screens on the dashboard, a panoramic sunroof, over-the-air upgrades, and even a heads-up display.

While the first electric car will not be available until the end of 2024, Mahindra has already entered the EV category in India with the introduction of the XUV400. The XUV400 is priced at Rs 15.99 lakh and comes in two variants: EC and EL. It is powered by floor-mounted 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh battery packs. We drove the XUV400 and here are our thoughts on it.
