Mahindra Thar RWD Launched In India At Rs. 9.99 Lakh

The Mahindra Thar RWD is priced more affordably and was just released by Mahindra & Mahindra on the domestic market. The price starts at Rs. 9.99 lakh for the base trim and costs as much as Rs. 13.49 lakh for the top-of-the-line RWD model (ex-showroom). Beginning on January 14, 2023, the Thar RWD will be delivered in AX (O) and LX trim levels.

Only the first 10,000 customers are eligible for the introductory prices. As it adheres to the four-metre slab and draws power from a smaller 1.5-litre four-cylinder D117 mHawk diesel engine found in the Marazzo, the homegrown SUV specialist has managed to keep the price of the model reasonable. It has a maximum power output of 117 PS and a maximum torque of 300 Nm.

Mahindra Thar RWD Engine & Transmission

Only a six-speed manual transmission is used with it. The larger 2.0-liter four-cylinder mStallion petrol engine, which produces a peak torque of 320 Nm and a maximum power output of 150 PS, is also available with a rear-wheel-drive configuration. Only a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission connects the drivetrain to the environment.

The 2.2-liter mHawk turbo four-pot diesel is only offered with four-wheel drive to customers who want to own a diesel engine. The Mahindra Thar RWD comes with two new exterior body paints, Everest White and Blazing Bronze, with no exterior changes other than the removal of the 44 badge. It is only sold as a hard-top version, unlike the 4WD version.

Mahindra Thar RWD Features

The Mahindra Thar RWD’s interior is equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, cruise control, LED Daytime Running Lights, electronically adjustable ORVMs, automatic start/stop, a cubby hole where the 44 selector is mounted, a steering wheel with mounted controls, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and other features.

It should be noted that the electronic brake locking differential replaces the mechanical locking differential in the Mahindra Thar 4WD variant. It was created in collaboration with Bosch to improve traction on slick surfaces. The LX diesel 4WD trims will retail the mechanical locking differential as an option.
