Mercedes-AMG C63 Wagon, Sedan Spied Squealing Tires At Nurburgring

The spy video captures the model’s four-cylinder hybrid exhaust note, too.

Both the Mercedes-AMG C63 sedan and waggon were spotted out testing with less camouflage than ever before in spy photos taken over a month ago. Mercedes kept some coverings on the front and rear to mask the significant stylistic alterations, and a new spy video recording both types testing at the Nurburgring shows that the corporation isn’t ready to peel back much more.

The drivers are seen driving the two models hard in the two videos, which catch the cars on the circuit and the adjacent roads. There are screaming tyres and the rumbles of the automobiles’ exhaust note, which will no longer be accompanied by those booming eight cylinders. The upcoming AMG C63 will be powered by a hybrid system.

Mercedes has decided for a hybrid 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rather than a V8. It will be equipped with an electric turbocharger and an electric motor to drive the wheels. The new configuration is expected to produce up to 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts). Although this is a lot of power, the powertrain means the car will only be available with a nine-speed automated transmission. There will be no instruction manual.

The camouflage hides the car’s finer characteristics, but the car’s AMG underpinnings are revealed by the car’s striking and aggressive visage and quad tailpipes. The Panamericana grille with vertical slats, which is also replicated in the lower grille aperture, is featured on the car.

The inside of the new Mercedes will be similar to that of its other recent launches, particularly the S-Class, which already has an interior that’s found its way throughout the Mercedes portfolio. The instrument cluster will be displayed on a digital screen on the dash, with a larger screen positioned lower on the instrument panel serving as the car’s infotainment centre. It’s a trendy location that should be well-equipped with cutting-edge technology and creature comforts.

Mercedes hasn’t said when it would introduce the new AMG C63. We expect Mercedes will begin by introducing the less-potent AMG C53 before rolling out the AMG C63 closer to the end of the year. The latest spy shots and videos show Mercedes is making progress in its development, with the cars now wearing production headlights.
