MG ZS EV design now in line with the updated petrol ZS, digital instrument cluster and 10.1-inch touchscreen.
The global standard MG ZS EV gets update for 2022. Now it comes with 72 kWh battery pack, obviously enhanced the driving range.
2022 ZS EV now updated for the international market. This facelift version receive some cosmetic changes as well as significant upgrades to the powertrain setup.
MG ZS EV Facelift: Exterior Design
With the update, MG has brought the ZS EV’s design in line with its petrol counterpart (to go on sale in India as the MG Astor on October 11), which received a facelift earlier. The sleak headlamp with LED DRL and LED tail lamp as same like the previous version. One noticeable change about the bumper which is restyled and offer new alloy wheel design.
The most major change is found on front where there is a change in body colour, blanked blanked-off front grille, which replaces the typical grille design found on the older ZS EV. However, the charging port are yet at the same position but behind the grille, just slightly shifted.
MG ZS EV Facelift: Cabin and Features
Looking at the interior there is not as such changes found in the updated model. But it has now wireless phone charger, a digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen that replaces the 8-inch unit found earlier.
According the MG official the enhancement in infotainment iSmart connectivity suite, which brings in “new graphics and improved functionality”. The company also loaded the extra tech features such as security, various climate features and other through smartphone.
MG ZS EV Facelift: Range and Battery
2022 MG ZS EV Facelift definitely redesign for significant improvement in the battery setup. The current model available on the sale has 44.5kWh battery pack that was good for a 261km range on Europe’s stringent WLTP test cycle. The updated model has 51kWh battery in the starting variant, which has a 317km range. The top of the segment has larger 72kWh packallowing the EV to be driven for 437km on a single charge.
MG ZS EV Facelift: India Launch Plans
Currently the 72kWh ZS EV is on sale in the European market and the 51kWH version will hopefully go on sale next year.
In 2020 the ZS EV was launched in India in early 2020 with a 44.5 kWh battery and 340km range on our MIDC test cycle (which is less gruelling than Europe’s WLTP test, explaining the higher range achieved in India for the 44.5kWh version). Additionally this MG come up with the update earlier this year and the good amount of improvement was found in the range figure.
MG will bring the facelifted ZS EV to India in the coming months, though it remains to be seen which powertrain and battery setup is chosen for our market.
