The New-Gen Hyundai Tucson is set to arrive in India soon after its premiere today, and we’ve compiled a list of everything we can expect from it. Hyundai Motor Company launched the new Tucson internationally in 2020. 

The new SUV is on its way to the Indian market today, with a launch date set very soon. We have a lot of hopes for the new-generation Hyundai Tucson based on spy photos and speculation (based on the specs of the international version), which we have described below.

1. New-Gen Tucson Exterior

In comparison to the current model, the next-generation model will have an entirely new design. It will have a bold front fascia with a big grille and integrated LED DRLs. The main headlamp unit will be located low on the front bumper, similar to the Creta and Venue’s split headlamp configuration. The new Tucson will also get teeth-shaped taillights and a horizontal LED strip running across the tailgate.

2. New-Gen Tucson Interior

The inside, like the exterior, will be entirely redesigned. The dashboard of the SUV will be radically redesigned, with AC vents neatly integrated into it. The steering wheel, like the ones on the Creta and i20, will have a flat bottom and a four-spoke style. In addition, the cabin upholstery will be significantly more luxurious than previously.

3. 2022 Tucson Features

The new Hyundai Tucson will have far more features than the current model. It will have a new 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless smartphone charger, a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front row seats, and other features.

The international model includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which will most likely be available on the India-spec vehicle as well. In addition, the BlueLink connected car system will be updated with a few new capabilities on the next-generation model.

4. 2022 Tuscon Powertrain

The current-generation Tucson comes with two engine options: a 2.0L NA petrol engine and a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine, both mated with 8-speed automatic transmission. These powertrains could be carried over to the next generation. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain alternatives are available in international markets, and they may make their way to the Indian market as well.

5. New-gen Tuscon Launch & Price

The new-generation Hyundai Tucson is slated to enter the Indian market around the Christmas season, most likely in mid-September. The new model will be much more expensive than the outgoing model, which is now priced between Rs. 22.69 lakh and Rs. 27.47 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), and it will continue to compete with vehicles such as the Jeep Compass and Citroen C5 Aircross.
