Toyota confirms 4-year waiting period for 2022 Land Cruiser
The Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 for 2022 is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, and it was well received by customers last year. There had been rumours that the SUV will have a four-year wait, and now the Japanese automaker has confirmed it by apologising for the delay on its Japanese website. The message was as follows: “Thank you very much for considering and ordering our vehicles. The Land Cruiser has been very well received in Japan and around the world. We sincerely apologize that it will take a long time to deliver the Land Cruiser to you after you place an order. We sincerely apologize for this. If you place an order now, the delivery time may be up to 4 years. We will do our utmost to shorten the delivery time for our customers.”
Launch Delayed In Many Countries
This also decreases the likelihood of the new Land Cruiser LC300 being released in additional markets in the near future, including on our shores. We hoped to see the vehicle in our market by the third quarter of 2022. The reason for the delay is the ongoing semiconductor crisis, which has impacted vehicle production throughout the world. The Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 is also jam-packed with cutting-edge technology and functions that necessitate semiconductors.
About 2022 Land Cruiser LC300
The TNGA platform underpins the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 in 2022, making it light on its feet and hence more nimble and stable in on-road characteristics. The platform has helped to reduce the platform’s kerb weight by 200 kg and makes it 10% more efficient in terms of CO2 emissions. The 5.7-litre V8 engine has been replaced with a new 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 oil-burner that is more powerful than the previous model. It produces 403 horsepower and 650 Nm of peak torque, which is an increase of 30 bhp and 108 Nm over the previous V8.
The engine is mated to a brand new 10-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, which also makes its debut on the new Toyota Land Cruiser LC300, and thanks to its well-calibrated gear ratios, this mountain of an SUV can sprint from zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in just 6.7 seconds, which is impressive for its size.
