Royal Enfield Bullet Diesel’s 325cc Engine Delivers 70 KMPL Mileage

The 325cc Royal Enfield Taurus (Bullet Diesel) motorcycle was launched in 1993 exclusively for the Indian market in order to halt the developing tendency of putting a bespoke diesel engine in the 350cc Bullet chassis. Taurus was once a household name in India, but it quickly faded as higher emission standards were implemented.

The Taurus, also known as the Bullet Diesel, appears remarkably identical to the ordinary Bullet model but has a different scene when the engine room is viewed. The fully-restored Royal Enfield Taurus from ParPin’s Garage not only looks good, but it also has the best-organized diesel engine. A close-up shot of its engine may give the impression that it is a fresh new engine.

ParPin’s Garage has used army green shade for all body components while the remaining parts are finished in black shade for a perfect contrast. In fact, the repair and color scheme make it difficult to believe that this bike existed a few decades ago. The restorers replaced the stock spoke rims with three-spoke black alloy wheels.

As the Taurus existed before the major change in Royal Enfield’s engine lineup, the left side brake layout makes it even more unique to ride. The Bullet Diesel used to feature a chrome exhaust while ParPin’s Garage has finished the same exhaust in matt black colour. The seat used here remains the same as the stock model of the 325cc Taurus.

The Royal Enfield’s 325cc diesel engine produced only 6.5 HP at 3600 rpm and 15 Nm of torque at 2500 rpm. The brand claimed roughly 70 kmpl of real-world mileage, making the Taurus the least fuel-consuming automobile of its day. According to some accounts, the top speed is between 80 and 90 kmph.
