Car Sales Report January 2022

Skoda Auto India has revealed their monthly sales figures for January 2022, with a total of 3,009 vehicles sold. The Czech automaker witnessed a month-on-month (MoM) fall of approximately 7% in January compared to the 3,234 vehicles delivered in December 2021. Skoda, on the other hand, claimed a three-fold increase in sales, with a year-on-year increase of approximately 200 percent, as compared to the 1,004 units sold a year before in January 2021. However, the market condition in January 2021 was far worse than this year, and the company’s current high-volume product, the Skoda Kushaq, was also unavailable for purchase. As a result, this astronomical increase is only a one-time occurrence.

2022 Skoda Slavia Production Started In India

Zac Hollis, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, commented on the company’s sales success, saying, “The continuous growth in our sales volumes is a great statement for our entire team and reflects the confidence our customers have in us. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the new year and it provides us with the right impetus needed to fulfil the targets we have set ourselves for 2022. We are looking forward to the rest of the year and are excited about the upcoming launch of Slavia, which along with Kushaq will drive our volumes going forward.”

Upcoming Skoda Cars In India

Skoda also unveiled its flagship model, the Kodiaq facelift, in January 2022. The luxury three-row SUV is available in three trim levels, with prices ranging from Rs. 35 lakh to Rs. 37.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Because the Kodiaq is already sold out for the whole year, it was clearly a highly anticipated model.

The company is currently preparing to unveil the all-new Skoda Slavia small sedan. After the Kushaq, it is the company’s second product based on the company’s localised MQB-A0-IN platform, and it is projected to contribute to the company’s monthly volumes. The Skoda Slavia is the official successor for the Rapid sedan, which was withdrawn last year, and it will be the cheapest Skoda in India. The Slavia has already begun series manufacturing, and it will be available in India in March 2022.
