The comfort seat expert, Spanner Customs, is back with their second modification project. This time, they have advanced the process by creating a fully customised motorcycle from a stock Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500.
By altering its basic colour and adding some accents for additional visual appeal, the chrome-laden stock motorcycle was deftly transformed into a dark theme cruiser. The motorcycle also features a tank finish in the HD Iron 883 design, and the seat was altered and further packed to provide the most comfortable riding experience in its class. The job was completed in around 15 days.
Matt Black was used to cover all of the exposed pieces, including the fenders, side panels, and gasoline tank, while a faux carbon fibre print was applied to the upper side of the fuel tank. A broader, black handlebar has been installed in place of the chrome one, and the body is now covered in an orange stripe.
The side panels also feature the same pattern. With this motif, the already-finished engine in black looks much better. The Thunderbird 500’s rear backrest was taken out, and the motorcycle’s spoke wheels were swapped out with multi-spoke alloy ones. Not to mention, a bespoke exhaust has been installed in place of the stock one.
In the Indian market, Royal Enfield motorcycles have a specialised fan base. Those who enjoy riding an Enfield are familiar with how these motorcycles differ from others in the market. The identical vehicle’s 346 cc, single-cylinder engine produces 19.8 BHP and 28 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a 5-speed transmission.
Additionally, Royal Enfield offers a larger 499 cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine with 27.2 BHP and 41.4 Nm of torque. The price range for the Continental GT starts at INR 1.09 lakh and exceeds INR 2 lakh.
