A quick check of the Parivahan app using the SUV’s temporary number plate reveals that SK Yadav purchased a Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 D SUV, indicating that the SUV SK Yadav purchased is a diesel-powered model. The base price of the GLS 400d 4MATIC, according to the Mercedes-Benz India website, is Rs. 1.16 crore. This indicates that the AMG 63 variant costs more than Rs 2 crore.
The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 gets a 4.0-litre V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG which is systematically electrified with a 48 V electrical system and the Integrated Starter Generator including boost function.
From what we are anticipating, either Suryakumar Yadav has taken delivery from Mercedes-Benz of an imported CBU, or Mercedes-Benz is about to launch the new model in India and SY Yadav is the first Indian to get hold of this model.
For your reference, Mercedes-Benz India launched the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 in the country back in 2017, but it was discontinued later. Currently, only Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 and GLE 63 S are retailed in India as the most potent SUV AMG models.
