Car Sales Report January 2022
Tata Motors has been on a roll this financial year, thanks to new product introductions. The Indian manufacturer surpassed Hyundai Motor India to become the country’s second best-selling carmaker in December 2021, and it currently has the greatest ever passenger vehicle (PV) sales in January 2022. When compared to 26,978 units sold in the same month a year before, Tata Motors sold 40,777 vehicles, a 51 percent increase. In the same month last year, the company sold 37,885 units of petrol and diesel cars, up 43 percent from 26,464 units sold the previous month. The electric vehicle (EV) industry saw a 463 percent increase in sales, with 2,892 units sold compared to just 514 units a year before.

Tata Motors EV Sales Report

The Tata Nexon EV, which has been the bestselling EV in India since its debut, has propelled the Indian carmaker’s rise in the EV market, with over 13,500 units sold to date. SUVs have been the company’s main growth engine, with 28,108 units sold, which is the company’s greatest ever SUV sales. The Tata Punch and Nexon have been the best-selling models in the line, with monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units. In January 2022, the firm sold approximately 3000 CNG vehicles, accounting for 42 percent of overall Tiago and Tigor sales.

Tata Motors December Sales
In December 2021, the firm sold 35,300 units, up 50% from the previous year, and 99,002 units in Q3 FY2022, the greatest quarterly sales statistics in a decade. Its sales have increased even further, with month-on-month (MoM) sales growth of 15.15 percent in January 2022. In reality, the company’s sales growth has resulted in a higher utilisation of its production capacity, with its Pune manufacturing unit recording its greatest monthly output since March 2007 and its Ranjangaon facility recording its best monthly production ever.

MoM And YoY Sales
Tata Motors also saw a 7% increase in its commercial vehicle (CV) division, selling 35,268 units compared to 32,816 units in the same month last year. It had a 3% increase in domestic sales, selling 31,708 units vs 30,671 units a year before. Its CV exports increased by 66% to 3,560 units, up from 2,145 units sold a year before.
