Tata Motors has finally introduced the long-awaited Nexon CNG in India after a protracted wait. The sub-four-meter SUV with iCNG is available in eight trim levels and costs between Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 14.59 lakh (all prices ex-showroom), over Rs 1 lakh more than the corresponding variants with gasoline alone.
The Nexon iCNG: Specs
The Nexon iCNG is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and has a maximum output of 98.6 horsepower and 170 Nm, both of which come from the same 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine. The Nexon iCNG does not currently have an automatic transmission. The Nexon CNG is advertised as having a 24 km/kg mileage.
Considering that Tata’s CNG lineup uses twin technology, which consists of two 60-liter CNG tanks, this Brezza competitor still has 321 liters of usable space. Leak detection, heat protection, a fire safety kit, and direct start for CNG fuel are among the additional CNG-specific improvements that are also available in this model.

Tata Nexon iCNG: Variants
The Nexon CNG is likewise quite feature-rich and comes in eight trim levels: Smart (O), Smart Plus, Smart Plus S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative Plus, and Fearless Plus S. The higher variants are equipped with a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, an automatic headlight and wiper system, an automatic panoramic sunroof with voice assistance, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and six airbags.

After the Tiago, Tigor, Punch, and Altroz, Tata’s Nexon is now their fifth iCNG vehicle. According to Tata, the iCNG lineup accounts for 21% of company sales, and the company holds a 15% market share in the CNG passenger car industry. In the sub-four-meter SUV class, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is the only other CNG substitute for the Nexon CNG.
