First EV With 4 Star Rating 2021 Tata Tigor EV Launched; Price, Range And Other Things To Know

Tata Motors has officially launched The 2021 Tata Tigor EV at an introductory price of ₹11.99 lakh, going up to ₹13.14 lakh (ex-showroom) for the higher trims. The Tigor EV is around for some time and has also been used by fleet operators primarily. But the updated new variant will focus on capturing more personal buyers. The company will try to attract customers looking for the EV with a decent range and a more affordable battery-powered passenger car.

The new Tigor EV is also the first car to be tested at Global NCAP and has scored 12/17 to get 4 stars at safety rating scale. At this point of time, the Tigor EV doesn’t really have any direct rivals in this price bracket and may well have to compete against sibling Nexon EV.

2021 Tata Tigor EV range

Tigor EV’s main attraction will be its range with which the vehicle is capable of running 306 kms (ARAI certified) in a single charge. Tata motors also stated that the EV can be charged using a fast charger or even on a 15A home socket. But is user have a fast charger, the battery can be charged to 80% in an hour, and it will take around eight hours for the normal home socket.

The EV will get a 26KWh lithum-ion battery with electric motor which is IP67 rated to insure maximum safety from dust and water. The combine electric powertrain on the car is capable of generating 73.75 Horsepower and 170Nm of Torque. The battery and engine is further covered with an eight year and 160,000 km warranty. Tigor will also features Ziptron technology which enhances the performance capability of the EV. With 2 drive modes ( Drive and Sport) the car can accelerate 0-60kmph in 5.7 seconds.

Standard safety features on the car includes dual airbags, Corner stability control, Hill ascent control, Hill descent control, ABS with EBD with some other Saftey features. 2021 Tigor is also Global NCAP certified so you can trust on the safety of the car.

The first thing to notice inside the cabin is the 7-inch infotainment system which will connect user to the 30 connected car features on the go. The Sound system on the car is carries by Harman Music System while there are blue accents on the dashboard and seats for that visual appeal.
