Teslas Top Worldwide EV Google Searches Followed By The VW Group

It’s not surprising that Tesla ranks first in global Google searches for electric automobiles, given the amount of press coverage it receives and the zeal with which its followers support it. Its four versions are the most sought-after electric vehicles on the planet.

However, according to data provided by partcatalog.com, there are some interesting things going on beneath them. The Tesla Model 3 is the most Googled electric vehicle on the planet, with 2,240,000 searches per month. The Model S, Model Y, and Model X are the next most popular.

The Audi e-tron, as well as the Porsche Taycan, were the most-searched non-Tesla models in 2021, with over a million searches per month, followed by the Volkswagen ID.4 (823,000), which must satisfy the Volkswagen Group.

Despite this, none of Volkswagen’s brands were in the top ten most-searched. Tesla, with 11,100,000 monthly searches, Rivian, with one million, and NIO, with one million, took the top three spots in that area.

In the U.S., meanwhile, the cars with the fastest-growing interest are the Volvo XC40 Recharge, which received 221,900 percent more searches in 2021 than it did in 2020; the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which got 12,442 percent more; and the Volkswagen ID.4, whose searches increased by 5,483 percent.

Meanwhile, partcatalog.com looked at the countries that bought the most electric vehicles between 2010 and 2020, based on data from the International Energy Agency. Naturally, China came out on top, selling almost four million electric vehicles in the teens. The United Kingdom was next, followed by Germany. But it was the closeness of Norway and the United States that surprised me the most.

Although we are all aware of Norway’s voracious appetite for electric vehicles, the country only has a population of 5.3 million people, yet they purchased 435,352 of them over the course of the decade, compared to the United States, which had a population of nearly 330 million people but only purchased 438,817.
