Force Gurkha BS6 : Buyer’s Guide
The Force Gurkha is one of the few tough off-road SUVs available in India at the moment. The latest Bharat Stage 6 or BS6 compliant version of the SUV, which was initially shown at the 2020 Auto Expo, arrived last year. The new Gurkha comes with a redesigned interior, increased creature comforts, and improved off-road capability, in addition to cosmetic modifications. For the new Gurkha, Force also provides a variety of customization choices. So, if you’re thinking of getting one, here are five crucial points to keep in mind.

1. Engine

The new Force Gurkha is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz that produces 91 horsepower at 3,200 rpm and 250 Nm of peak torque between 1400 and 2400 rpm.
2. Transmission
A five-speed Mercedes G-28 manual gearbox is available as an option, with four-wheel-drive (4WD) as standard. The new Force Gurkha boasts a 35-degree crawl-up angle and a 700-millimeter water-wading capacity.
3. Safety Features
Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, cornering lamp, one-touch lane change indication, tyre pressure monitoring system, and follow-me-home and lead-me-to-vehicle headlamps are just a few of the safety features.
4. Interior

The Force Gurkha’s interior is decorated in a midnight black colour scheme with dark grey upholstery. A redesigned gear lever and 4X4 lever are also included, as well as a moulded floor mat, panoramic side windows, captain chairs, and a rear passenger armrest. A new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system from Kenwood is available, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connection, as well as navigation with real USB mirroring.
5. Design

The new Force Gurkha appears to be more than a simple utility vehicle. A new single-slat grille with Gurkha branding, LED Pro Edge headlights with integrated DRLs, LED indicators, a new snorkel, a newly designed ‘Shark Gill’ on the fender, a bigger rear windshield, newly designed wing mirrors with Khukri engraving, new black plastic cladding, rear-door mounted spare wheel, and LED taillights are among the new features.
