1. 2023 TVS Apache RTR 160 2V

The price of TVS Apache RTR 160 starts at Rs. 1.13 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 1.24 Lakh. TVS Apache RTR 160 is offered in 5 variants – Front Disc, Rear Disc, Drum, Disc and the top variant Apache RTR 160 Disc Bluetooth which comes at a price tag of Rs. 1.24 Lakh.

The TVS Apache RTR 160 is powered by a fuel-injected 159.7cc single-cylinder 2-valve SOHC air-cooled motor. It produces 16.04PS and 13.85Nm and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. It also gets ‘Glide Through Technology’ which bumps up revs at low-throttle openings and prevents the engine from stalling. The Apache RTR 160 2V is underpinned by a dual-cradle frame and features a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shock absorbers. Braking is via a 270mm front petal disc and a 130mm rear drum, along with an optional rear 200mm petal disc. All three variants get single-channel ABS. It has an accessible 790mm seat height, 180mm ground clearance, and a 12-litre fuel tank. It gets 90/90-17 front and 120/80-17 rear tubeless Remora tyres.

2. 2023 Bajaj Pulsar NS200

The recent round of price revisions has seen the asking price of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 go up by Rs 2,004. The new sticker price is Rs 1,35,226 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it one of the more expensive bikes in the 200cc segment.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6 gets fuel injection and an additional catalytic converter, which are the main reason for the price hike. Power and torque have increased by 1PS and 0.2Nm to 24.5PS and 18.5Nm on the BS6 version, while weight has gone up by 2kg. Apart from a BS6-compliant fuel-injected motor, the Pulsar NS200 BS6 remains cosmetically and mechanically unchanged. It gets a perimeter frame with suspension in the form of telescopic forks and a monoshock. Braking is via a 300mm front disc and 230mm rear disc. It uses 100/80-17 front and 130/70-17 rear MRF REVZ tyres.

3. 2023 Bajaj Pulsar N160

The 2023 Pulsar N160 gets an all-new 164.82cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that churns out 16PS and 14.65Nm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Comparatively, the Pulsar NS160 makes 17.2PS and 14.6Nm.

4. 2023 Yamaha FZS-FI V3

The price of Yamaha FZS-FI V3 starts at Rs. 1.21 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 1.24 Lakh. Yamaha FZS-FI V3 is offered in 2 variants – STD Bluetooth and the top variant FZS-FI V3 DLX which comes at a price tag of Rs. 1.24 Lakh.

The 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor remains unchanged. It makes 12.4PS of power at 7250rpm and 13.3Nm of torque at 5500rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission. However, Yamaha says the engine is now tuned for better low-end performance. The same goes for the bike’s underpinnings. The FZS-Fi retains its telescopic fork and monoshock setup. Anchoring the bike is a 282mm disc up front and a 220mm disc at the rear. Tyre dimensions remain unchanged as well – a 100/80-section type up front and a 140/60-section tyre at the rear.

5. 2023 Royal Enfield Hunter 350

The price of Royal Enfield Hunter 350 starts at Rs. 1.49 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 1.71 Lakh. Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is offered in 3 variants – Retro, Metro and the top variant Hunter 350 Metro Rebel which comes at a price tag of Rs. 1.71 Lakh.

Powering the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the same 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and the Classic 350. Despite a slightly sportier state of tune, it produces the same 20.2PS and 27Nm. It is paired to a five-speed gearbox. The Hunter is built on a split dual-cradle frame, linked to a telescopic fork and dual shock absorber suspension setup, same as its siblings. It is anchored by a 300mm disc with a dual-piston floating calliper up front and a 270mm disc with a single-piston floating calliper at the rear. It comes with the safety net of dual channel ABS or single-channel ABS in the more affordable Retro variant.

6. 2023 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

The price of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V starts at Rs. 1.21 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 1.45 Lakh. TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is offered in 5 variants – Front Disc, Rear Drum, Front And Rear Disc, Front And Rear Disc With SmartXonnect, Special Edition and the top variant Apache 160 4V RTR 165 RP which comes at a price tag of Rs. 1.45 Lakh.

The 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is powered by the same 159.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine with an oil cooler and a five-speed gearbox. For 2022, TVS has updated the engine with three segment-first riding modes: Rain, Urban and Sport. Under the Sport mode, the engine produces 17.55PS and 14.73Nm. This makes it 0.08PS less powerful than its predecessor. Under Urban and Rain modes, the figures go down to 15.64PS and 14.14Nm to ensure easier handling. 

7. 2023 Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 3.0

Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 3.0 price start at Rs. 1.13 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 3.0 is offered in only one variant – BS6.

After the BS6 update, the FZ’s 149cc engine has seen a slight revision in power and torqe. Power is down from 13.2PS to 12.4PS while the torque is up by 0.8Nm and now delivers 13.6Nm. The underpinnings remain unchanged and the BS6 motorcycle continues to use the same telescopic fork and monoshock.

8. 2023 Honda Hornet 200

Honda’s contender in the sub-200cc space, the Hornet 2.0, has received a minor price hike for 2021. The standard variant of the bike is now priced at Rs 1,28,195 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 1,268 dearer than what it was in 2020.

The 184cc single-cylinder air-cooled mill on the Hornet 2.0 is the largest that Honda makes in India. It produces 17.27PS at 8,500rpm and 16.1Nm at 6,000rpm. Honda claims it has a healthy mid-range performance. However, these figures aren’t comparable to 200cc motorcycles like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V or the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200. These are more in tune with bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar 180F and the TVS Apache RTR 180 2V. The Hornet 2.0 gets a simple five-speed transmission. The Hornet 2.0 becomes Honda’s first made-in-India product to offer a USD fork. It is the most affordable motorcycle on sale with a USD fork. At the rear, a preload-adjustable monoshock is affixed to a box-section swingarm. Petal disc brakes add to the premium quotient of the Hornet 2.0, but only a single-channel ABS system is offered.

9. 2023 Suzuki Gixxer 150

Suzuki has hiked the prices of the Gixxer for the second time in as many months. The bike now costs Rs 1,16,700, Rs 2,013 more than its previous price. However, the motorcycle neither gets a cosmetic nor mechanical upgrade.

The 155cc motor powering the Gixxer was already fuel-injected, and has now become BS6-compliant thanks to some new ECU maps and an additional catalytic converter. As a result, output has taken a hit, down from 14.1PS/14Nm to 13.8PS/13.6Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Gixxer is held together by a single-downtube frame and suspension components comprising a conventional telescopic fork and preload-adjustable monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch wheels at both ends and anchorage is provided by disc brakes at both ends assisted by single-channel ABS. The increase in weight on the BS6 version is insignificant, just 1kg.

10. 2023 Honda Unicorn 160

Honda Unicorn price start at Rs. 1.05 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Honda Unicorn is offered in only one variant – STD.

The big change on the new motorcycle is the larger 163cc motor. The fuel-injected, air-cooled engine produces 12.92PS and 14Nm. The power output is identical to the Unicorn 150, but torque has gone up by 1.2Nm. It still continues to employ a 5-speed transmission. While the Unicorn BS6 shares its underpinnings with the CB Unicorn 150, the new Honda bike is 6kg lighter than the older motorcycle. Also, the Unicorn BS6 is 10mm shorter than the CB Unicorn 150 but features a longer seat. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic fork and monoshock, while braking is done via disc brake at front and a drum brake unit at the back.
