The new Gazoo Racing (GR) Sport Edition of the Fortuner was unveiled by Toyota during the 2022 Bangkok International Motor Show. For those who are unaware, the Fortuner GR Sport model is currently available in Indonesia. The Legender suffix, on the other hand, is absent from the Thai-spec model.

The new Toyota Fortuner GR Sport variant has a sharper front bumper with restyled fog lamp housing and new 20-inch alloy wheels with red-colored brake callipers. A significantly redesigned rear bumper is also included. The GR logo is visible on the air-dam housing and the boot lid. It comes in a glossy crimson colour that looks fantastic. Black and white colour schemes are also available for the SUV.

Inside the cabin, the new Toyota Fortuner GR Sport Edition gets the blacked-out interior as the standard Legender. However, it gets aluminium pedals, & GR badging on the seats, steering wheel and push-button start. The contrasting red stitches are added to the upholstery and door pads.
The SUV also gets Toyota Safety Sense package with features like dynamic radar cruise control, blind spot monitor, and red cross-traffic alert. These features are not available in the India-spec model.

It is powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 204PS and 500Nm. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
