Toyota Innova HyCross To Have ADAS, Sunroof, Hybrid Engine & More

The Toyota Innova HyCross is set to make its global debut in the coming months, beginning with the Indonesian market. The new Innova HyCross features a new design language and a premium cabin, as well as a new hybrid powertrain and a monocoque architecture. Bookings for this new MPV began earlier this year in Indonesia, and the brand is expected to offer many advanced features such as ADAS and a sunroof with the new-generation Innova.

The new Toyota Innova Hycross will have a sophisticated design on the outside, with a bold grille at the front flanked by sleek LED lights on either end. The side profile also receives numerous updates, while the rear remains consistent with the overall design language. The Innova Hycross is significantly larger than the current Innova and has a longer wheelbase. Unlike the current-generation Innova, the upcoming Innova HyCross will be available with front-wheel drive.

The new Toyota Innova HyCross will have a new dashboard layout with a new and improved infotainment system, a new colour scheme, and better seats on the inside. Aside from that, the new Innova HyCross will include a slew of new features, including a large sunroof. Wireless charging, multi-zone climate control, heads-up display, connected car technology, and other features are also likely to be included in this new update.

The new Innova HyCross will be powered by a 2.0L or 1.8L strong-hybrid petrol engine. The MPV in India is expected to use a localised version of the THS II (Toyota hybrid System II). This setup features a twin-motor setup that is significantly less expensive while providing better “step-off” torque and fuel economy figures. With select variants, the Japanese automaker may also offer a diesel engine option. More information is not yet available.

In terms of safety, the new Toyota Innova HyCross is expected to come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite. This system includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, road sign assist, and automatic high beams.

While Toyota has yet to reveal the official launch date for the new Innova Hycross in India, the MPV will be available in Indonesia in November 2022. Bookings for the MPV have recently begun for a nominal fee of Rp 15 million (approx INR 80,000).
