The eagerly anticipated Urban Cruiser Hyryder will go on sale in the domestic market today, according to Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), with prices starting at Rs. 15.11 lakh for the entry-level trim and rising to Rs. 18.99 lakh for the top-of-the-line model (ex-showroom). The five-seater is produced at the company’s Bidadi, Karnataka, factory.
For a deposit of Rs. 25,000, reservations for the new midsize SUV have already started. It will face off against the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, which is scheduled to debut in September 2022, as well as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks, and Kia Seltor.

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder differs from its competitors in a number of ways, including being the first full hybrid midsize SUV and the first midsize SUV with all-wheel drive. It is supported by Suzuki’s Global C platform and measures 4,365 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, 1,635 mm in height, and 2,600 mm in wheelbase length.

The latest Brezza small SUV, the upcoming Grand Vitara, and the global Vitara all share the same architecture. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Hyryder share a number of features, including a split headlamp cluster, attractive LED Daytime Running Lights, a wide air intake, noticeable front and rear skid plates, sporty 17-inch alloy wheels, and C-shaped wraparound LED tail lamps.
Integrated spiler with high-mounted stop lamp, squared-off wheel arches, thick black body cladding, black-finished pillars, single- and dual-tone colour schemes, shark fin antenna, hybrid badge, grey roof rail, etc. are additional visual highlights. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter K15C mild-hybrid petrol engine from Maruti Suzuki and a powerful hybrid drivetrain from Toyota.

A three-cylinder engine with 92 PS and 122 Nm of torque and an electric motor with 79 PS and 141 Nm of torque make up the powerful hybrid system. In comparison to the mild hybrid model, the trunk space is sacrificed due to the placement of a 177.6V lithium-ion battery in the boot.

Toyota offers a standard warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh kilometers, which is extendable to 5 years or 2.2 lakh kilometers. The warranty for the hybrid battery is 8 years or 1.6 lakh kilometers.
