Triumph Tiger Sport 660 Launch Date Announced

On March 29, 2022, Triumph Motorcycles will unveil the new Tiger Sport 660 sport touring motorcycle. The new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 will be the company’s new entry-level model in the Tiger family, slotting below the Tiger Sport 850 in the lineup. The model will fight in the segment against the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT. The Tiger Sport 660 is based on the Trident 660 entry-level roadster, but it has a redesigned subframe, longer travel suspension, and a front fairing with a tall windscreen and an upright riding position. The Tiger Sport 660 is now available for pre-order at Triumph dealerships across India.

Technical Features

The 660cc liquid-cooled inline-three cylinder engine produces 80 horsepower at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox is connected with the motor. Showa 41 mm USD forks with 150 mm travel handle suspension chores, while the monoshock gets a remote preload adjuster. The Nissin brakes are the same as on the Trident 660, with two-piston sliding callipers clamping 310 mm twin front discs and a single 255 mm disc on the rear wheel. The alloy wheels of the bike are 17 inches in diameter.

Notable Features

In terms of design, the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is more in line with the Tiger family than the Trident. The model gets a bigger 17-liter fuel tank, a new instrument console, and enhanced riding ergonomics. The motorcycle has two riding modes: road and rain, as well as switchable traction control and dual-channel ABS. The kerb weight is 206 kg, and the seat height is 835 mm. A large windscreen, a step-up saddle, integrated pannier mounts, and an underfloor exhaust are all included on the Tiger Sport 660.

The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is projected to cost between Rs. 8-9 lakh (ex-showroom), making it far more affordable than the Tiger 900 range while maintaining competitive pricing.
