CNG Cars Ready To Launch In 2022
With increase in Petrol and diesel prices alternative fuels are a preferable choice. Compressed Natural Gas, better known as CNG, is been considered as a better alternative to these fuels. There are many car brands preparing to launch their CNG and LPG cars in the upcoming year. Hence, we made a list of the upcoming CNG cars from Indian manufacturers which are all set to launch in 2022.

1. Tata Tiago CNG
The Tata Tiago is know as the safest affordable car in India. Unofficial bookings for factory-fitted CNG models of Tiago and Tigor have commenced at select dealerships since October 2021. Although it is only available in petrol variant the company will soon launch the CNG option. The Tiago CNG is expected to be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol+CNG kit. It will be the most affordable CNG car in India. It will directly rival with Maruti Celerio CNG.
2. Tata Tigor CNG
The Tigor subcompact automobile fueled by compressed natural gas is slated to hit the market soon, most likely next month. This year, the Tigor CNG has been keenly anticipated in the Indian vehicle market. The same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol +CNG engine with 85 horsepower and 113 Nm of peak torque is predicted. With the new engine option it expected to cost Rs 50,000 more than the comparable variant of Tigor.
3. Maruti Celerio CNG
The New Gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio is recently launched. It is an all new family car with good mileage and quality styling and premium features. The CNG model of the car will be available with a 1.0L petrol+CNG engine coupled with the 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT. A total of 60Ps of power along with 82Nm of torque is predicted.
4. Maruti Baleno CNG
Baleno is one of the best selling cars in India from Maruti and is expected to launch soon with a CNG option. In addition, company is also going to launch a facelift version of this car. The current pricing of Baleno’s base variant is 5.99 lakh INR, which may be increased for the CNG variant. The CNG could offer around 25 km/kg of mileage. But available with a manual transmission only.
5. Maruti Swift CNG
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is the most famous vehicle in the lineup of old and new cars from the company. The third generation of the Maruti Swift is currently the highest-selling car in its segment. The company has now decided to come up with petrol+CNG engine option for the Swift. It will be offered with 1.2L Petrol + CNG engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The company claims to grab new buyers with the new engine option.
6. Tata Altroz CNG
The Tata Altroz is a premium hacthback vehicle. The car is a complete package offering style, safety and features. The car will get a 1.2L Petrol+CNG engine. The Altroz is already available in both petrol and diesel engine. It will be offered with a manual gearbox only. All the other features available in the car will be same as the petrol variant. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 6.50 lakh.
7. Tata Punch CNG
The Tata Punch was the best selling car of the brand when launched. It helped the brand to top in the sales chart in November 2021. The Punch will get the same 1.2L+CNG engine as the Tiago with some fine-tuning. It will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission. With good mileage and features the new fuel option the Punch gets an edge over its rival.
8. Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG
According to some reports, the customers have been seen in demand for the CNG variant of the Brezza, hence, there are chances to see this variant in the upcoming year. The CNG variant of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be the first in its segment to offer the fuel option. The engine would be 1.5 litre petrol engine and is expected to launch at a starting price of 7.61 lakh INR (ex-showroom).
