Top 10 Sickest Upcoming Pickup Trucks in USA

Pickup trucks are the most popular and best-selling cars in the United States, and these forthcoming models will be game changers.

For decades, pickup trucks have grown in popularity, accounting for more than 20% of vehicle sales in the United States alone. They are known for their unrivalled towing and hauling capabilities. While sturdy, modest trucks are still accessible, current full-size pick trucks have stepped up their game, with sports-like cabins replete with luxurious accoutrements, infotainment systems, cutting-edge technology, and other showy touches.

Manufacturers are preparing thrilling new pickup vehicles as the pickup truck battle heats up. As the automobile industry transitions to zero-emission fuels, the number of electric trucks has increased. Almost every manufacturer’s most popular marque includes a completely electric vehicle. Even automakers like Ford and General Motors are investing heavily in battery-electric propulsion. New-entry startups and technology firms are also interested in the electric pickup market. Even as EVs become more prevalent, gas-powered trucks continue to overwhelm our marketplaces. From mid-size to full-size to heavy-duty pickups, here are 10 of the most exciting forthcoming pickup vehicles we can’t wait to get our hands on.

1. 2023 GMC Sierra 1500

GMC has stated that manufacture of the 2023 Sierra (Crew Cab and Regular Cab variants) will begin on August 29th. The Double Cab vehicles will be available a week later, on September 6th. There are four engine options, including a new turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine.

The other three are the standard engine (a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder with 310hp and 430lb-ft of torque with an eight-speed automated transmission) and two V8 alternatives (355hp 5.3-liter engine and a 420hp 6.2-liter engine). The Sierra 1500 half-ton has a towing capability of 13,200 pounds and a payload capacity of 2240 pounds.

2. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2

Chevrolet wanted to find a solution to stay up with the competition (Ram, Ford, and Toyota) — they sorely needed to upgrade the Silverado. Yes, the Silverado 2022 addressed this issue. Even while it isn’t as rugged as the high-flying Ram TRX or the F-150, its off-road aptitude allows it to tackle America’s most difficult terrain.

The jacked-up and muscular appearance of the 2022 Silverado ZR2 proves that this is no average vehicle. It is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 420hp and 460lb-ft of torque with a ten-speed automated gearbox. The Formula 1-derived multimatic spool-valve dampers are the hallmark of the 2022 model.

3. 2023 Lordstown Endurance

Lordstown is a newcomer to the burgeoning electric pickup truck market. The American firm has had legal and financial difficulties, which have caused the debut of its first EV truck to be delayed — the company had promised an earlier deployment before the GMC Hummer EV, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Rivian R1T.

The Lordstown Endurance 2023 will be four-wheel drive, with four electric motors positioned on each wheel. They’ll produce 600hp and have a towing capability of 7,500 pounds when combined. A 109kWh battery will get the vehicle to about 250 kilometres. Production will begin in the third quarter of 2022.

4. 2023 Toyota Tundra

Toyota revamped the full-size Tundra for the first time in fourteen years for the 2022 model year, following fourteen years of selling the same unmodified vehicle. Toyota aficionados have been wowed by the development, high performance, and styling of the vehicle. The 2023 Tundra is a carryover from the newly revised 2022 Tundra.

A new SX package will be offered, with strong redesigned style but a steep price tag. The conventional 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine produces 389hp and 479lb-ft of torque, while the hybrid V6 powertrain produces 437hp and 583lb-ft of torque. The towing capability of the 2023 model is 12,000 pounds.

5. 2024 Ram 1500 EV

The first dedicated EV from Ram Trucks won’t touch American roads for a time, but when it does, it will be a game changer. The company boasts a 500-mile driving range (200 more than the F-150 Lightning) and a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds or more. Other tentative claims include self-driving capabilities and 150kWh fast-charging rates.

RAM stated that the EV will be available with an optional combustion engine range extender, providing it a competitive advantage. The 2024 production year appears to be a tactical move by Ram Trucks to capitalise on any mistakes made by its competitors, who will launch full-size EV trucks in 2022 and 2023.

6. 2024 Chevrolet Silverado Electric

The Silverado EV may be late to the full-size electric-pickup party, but its design tells us it was worth the wait. Other manufacturers have already established high standards for EV towing, range, and power. To compete, the Chevrolet Silverado Electric has a towing capability of 10,000 pounds, a travel range of 400 miles, and a horsepower of 664.

The standard 510hp WT will produce 615lb-ft of torque, while the fully-loaded 664hp RST will produce 780lb-ft of torque in “Wide Open Watts” driving mode. Chevy boasts that the RST accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds. The payload ratings for the WT and RST, on the other hand, are 1200 pounds and 1300 pounds, respectively.

7. Toyota Hilux GR Sport

That’s right, the renowned and indomitable Toyota Hilux is getting the Gazoo Racing treatment – the same division that helped produce the GR Supra, GR Yaris, and the impending GR Corolla. This new flagship trim is inspired by the company’s victory in the Dakar Rally.

Under the hood, not much has changed. The GR Hilux retains the original 2.8-liter engine, however it has been tuned to generate 204hp and 369lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the ground via a six-speed automated transmission. The towing capability of 7,800 pounds remains intact, and it can haul up to 2,000 pounds. A livelier cabin and tailored suspension for improved handling and performance are among the notable modifications.

8. 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 EV

GMC hopes to be the first carmaker to offer two electric pickup trucks. Following the release of the Hummer EV, GMC revealed a “Shock and Awe” sneak look unveiling of the 2023 Sierra 1500 EV. With manufacturing expected to begin in early 2023, one thing is certain: the Sierra EV appears to be more futuristic than the gas-powered Sierra.

The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 EV is similar to the Chevy Silverado EV in appearance, with eye-catching L-shaped lighting, a strong front end, and directional turn signals. The truck’s electric motors will be powered by GM’s Ultium battery packs, which are also utilised in the Hummer EV.

9. 2022 Volkswagen Amarok

After a 12-year hiatus, the German manufacturer rebuilt the next-generation Amarok with one goal in mind: to provide superior load-carrying performance and accommodation than its predecessor. It is based on the Ford Ranger, but it goes beyond simply rebadging it.

While it shares the Ford Ranger’s body-on-frame base, the two vehicles are almost identical in virtually every other way. The Amarok is longer and more durable, therefore it has better off-road capability. Engine sizes will range from 2.0 to 3.0 litres, with four or six cylinders. There are five trim levels in all, with two at the top of the range.

10. Tesla Cybertruck

The Cybertruck was announced in 2019, triggering a massive global excitement. The alien-like futuristic EV possesses a design like that borrowed from a blend between a Zumwalt stealth destroyer and an F-117 Nighthawk stealth jet. It features premium specs, armored bodywork, and endless potential.

Unlike the wild exterior, the interior is full of unique touches and unconventional design cues. Along with an available all-wheel drive, Tesla claims the truck has a 14,000-pound tow capacity on the highest tri-motor trim. The top speed is limited to 130mph, and it can go from zero to 60mph in 2.9 seconds. Travel on a full charge is an estimated 500 plus miles. Following several production delays in recent years, Elon Musk once again promised a 2023 rollout.
