Volkswagen Upcoming Compact Sedan Spotted Testing Again

Volkswagen Virtus To Launch Soon In India

The Virtus, Volkswagen India’s next small car, has been sighted testing once more in India. A completely disguised prototype of the vehicle was spotted being tested near the company’s production site in Chakan, Maharashtra. The new sedan will be launched in India in March 2022, the same month that Skoda will introduce the Slavia sedan, which will be the Virtus’ competitor. The new sedan will replace the Vento sedan and will be the second vehicle from VW India to be developed on the MQB A0 IN platform, which also underlies the Volkswagen Taigun.

What We Know So Far ?

Volkswagen Virtus To Launch Soon In India

Given the car’s strong camouflage, describing the aesthetic alterations we’ll observe on the next Volkswagen sedan or Virtus is challenging. We believe the car will have a thinner grille with the new VW mark in the centre, a huge central airdam, and a muscular bumper, based on the visible components. LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and potentially even LED foglamps are expected to be included in the next VW sedan. The sedan’s proportions appear to be similar to the Skoda Slavia in profile, implying that its dimensions may be comparable as well. The Slavia measures 4,541 mm in length, 1,752 mm in width, and 1,487 mm in height, with a 2,651 mm wheelbase. We also get to see a set of black alloy wheels, although they appear to be prototypes, and the actual car will almost certainly get new ones. We don’t get a good look at the car’s back end, but we’re expecting broad wraparound taillights and a hefty bumper.

Although the inside is not visible in these shots, we anticipate to see a completely new layout with a fully digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A wireless charger, heated seats, sunroof, auto climate control, and other amenities are anticipated to be shared between the new sedan and the VW Taigun. In terms of safety, the car will come standard with two airbags, with the top-end version getting up to six airbags. Other standard features are anticipated to include ABS with EBS, ESC, ISOFIX mounts, and rear parking sensors.
