If you want a rugged SUV, the Scorpio-N is the choice you should make. The SUV does not have as many electronics as the XUV700.
The Scorpio-N is based on the ladder-frame chassis, which automatically makes it a champion in the off-roading sections.
The XUV700 is full of high-end features.
The XUV700 gets a longer feature list than the Scorpio-N. These extra features include a panoramic sunroof, memory seats for the driver, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera and ADAS.
If you are going to spend most of your time on the highways, the XUV700 is a much better choice.
Both the vehicles get the similar engine and transmission options, the XUV700 can sure accelerate and attain higher speeds much better than the Scorpio-N.
If you want an outright road presence, the Mahindra Scorpio-N wins here.
