If you want to get your hands on a Yamaha motorcycle or scooter, here is the price list for November 2022. Yamaha launched its first neo-retro bike in India, the Yamaha FZ-X in June 2021.
The Yamaha FZ-X is based on the Yamaha FZ-S Fi platform, so it shares most of its core components with the streetfighter. With the FZ-X, Yamaha is targeting the retro segment below the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. It will be ideal for those looking for an affordable retro bike packed with modern, practical features.

The Yamaha FZ-X has priced at Rs 1,33,900 ex-showroom Delhi and is available in three colors.
Yamaha FZ-X Features
The Yamaha FZ-X comes with an all-LED headlamp and tail lamp. It also gets a modern full-LCD instrument cluster compatible with the Yamaha Y-Connect app. (Free Viagra) This combo helps the rider access features such as call and SMS alerts, mileage details, last parked location, and malfunction alerts. However, there is no turn-by-turn navigation on offer here.
Other notable features include a USB charging port just below the instrument console, an offset fuel tank cap and a tuck-and-roll single-piece seat with upright handlebars. It also gets a single-channel ABS and side-stand engine cut-off feature for better safety. As part of the official accessory list, Yamaha offers LED indicators, engine guards, seat covers, tank grips, and chromed-out rearview mirrors.
Yamaha FZ-X Engine
The Yamaha FZ-X is powered by the same 149cc fuel-injected air-cooled engine found on the FZ-S. It churns out 12.4PS and 13.3Nm, mated to a 5-speed transmission. Yamaha could’ve tweaked the motor for a better bottom-end grunt to go with the retro character of the motorcycle. Interestingly, this engine makes just 0.6PS more than the Bajaj Pulsar 125.
Yamaha FZ-X Suspension & Brakes
The motorcycle packs a gaitered front fork and a rear mono-shock. The alloy wheels are wrapped with block pattern tyres (100-section front and 140-section rear) for a more rugged look. The motorcycle comes to a halt using disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS as standard. At 139kg, the Yamaha FZ-X is 2kg heavier than the FZ-S Fi. It also gets a generous 165mm ground clearance.
Yamaha FZ-X Rivals
The next most affordable retro bike after the Yamaha FZ-X is the Kawasaki W175. However, it is priced at quite a premium, Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). For around the FZ-X’s price, you could also take a look at the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer, or even the Aprilia SXR 125.
