Zenvo will Launch a new V12-Engined Hybrid Hypercar in 2023

The Danish exotic carmaker has shown the design to probable customers ahead of its 2023 debut.

It was the year 2018, and the occasion was the Geneva Motor Show. A Danish automaker unveiled the TSR-S, a million-dollar hypercar that can accelerate from zero to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometres per hour) in 2.8 seconds. Zenvo is the company, and it appears that the exotic carmaker plans to make headlines again next year.

Chairman and CCO Jens Sverdrup confirmed to Top Gear that a V12-powered Zenvo hypercar is in the works. Its design is still unknown at this time, but prospective buyers have already been given an exclusive sneak peek. The public debut is scheduled for 2023.

Sverdrup, on the other hand, isn’t keeping the details of the upcoming hypercar a secret. According to him, the unnamed car will feature a brand-new modular carbon fibre chassis, as well as a new gearbox, modular V12 engine, and electric drivetrain. All of these components will be designed and constructed in-house.

The upcoming hypercar, unlike the supercharged Zenvo TSR-S, will have two electric turbochargers connected to the V12 mill, for a total of 1,200 horsepower (895 kilowatts). However, the goal is to achieve up to 1,800 hp (1,342 kW) through the use of an electric motor.

Sverdrup also revealed that two versions are in the works. The first is a hybrid GT with an electric motor mounted on the front axle for all-wheel drive. However, this is still up for debate at this time. Meanwhile, the second version is said to be track-focused (but road-legal) and may include several aero elements for increased downforce. According to the publication, the target weight is 2,756 pounds (1,250 kilogrammes).

The price is also unknown at this time, but given the company’s previous vehicles, such as the $1.2-million Zenvo TS1 GT, we don’t expect anything less.
