Bentley is tireless in its pursuit of more personalization options for customers, and this new S version for the GT and GTC is a good illustration of how Crewe strives to please. The upscale grand tourer begins as a V8 variant before receiving a sports exhaust with quad black tips to enhance the twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine’s tone. The remainder of the alterations, such as the dark tint for the headlights and taillights, are entirely cosmetic. (simonsezit)
Everything is black save the winged badge and letters, which are still bright chrome. The new Continental S provides as a sportier alternative to the Continental Azure, which focuses on the luxury side of the GT. The eight-cylinder engine, on the other hand, delivers 542 horsepower and 770 Newton-meters (568 pound-feet) of torque. It allows the automobiles to accelerate from a standstill to 62 mph (100 km/h) in about four seconds.
The glossy black radiator grille and “S” emblems on the front fenders are subtle exterior alterations, while the 22-inch wheels with a five Y-shaped spoke design are new to the Continental GT range. The new shoes come in a glossy black finish as usual, but a Pale Brodgar Sating finish is available as an alternative. A smaller 21-inch set with a tri-spoke style is also available. Bentley paints the brake callipers red to create a striking contrast.
The British ultra-luxury brand provided the GT S and GTC S a two-tone interior finish that you won’t find on any other Continental. The “Bentley Motors Ltd” plaque has been replaced by a simple “S” on the treadplates. The same letter is embroidered on the front and rear headrests, and red accents are used throughout the cabin to complement the black leather.
Finally, the driver’s display inherits the Continental GT Speed’s performance-oriented visuals. Although there’s no word on cost, logic suggests that the S model will fall between between the “basic” model and the W12-powered flagship.
Bentley isn’t finished with the product’s evolution, as spy pictures have revealed a plug-in hybrid variant is on the way.
