Next Generation Porsche Taycan May Arrive In 2027: Report

Last year, Porsche Taycan did beat the company’s popular ICE model, the Porsche 911 in terms of sales.

Porsche is currently working on the second generation of the Porsche Taycan, the company’s first electric vehicle. According to reports, the Volkswagen Scalable Systems Platform will serve as the foundation for both the Porsche Taycan and the electric Panamera model (SSP). It is anticipated that the Porsche Panamera will become more opulent while the Porsche Taycan will continue to be a performance vehicle.

Porsche is currently working to release the Macan SUV’s all-electric variant. The Porsche Macan EV will begin production the following year and go on sale in 2024. According to a recent report, Porsche plans to produce more than 80,000 Macan electric vehicles, the same number as those powered by internal combustion engines (ICE). Porsche also intends to release an electric Cayenne by 2025. Based on the same Premium Platform Electric, the electric Porsche Macan and Cayenne will both be available (PPE). Between 2024 and 2026, the premium sports car manufacturer also intended to release an all-electric Cayman or Boxster.

Up until 2030, Porsche intends to sell the Panamera, Macan, and Cayenne in electric form alongside their hybrid and ICE counterparts. In comparison to its ICE models, the company is optimistic about making more money from electric vehicles. Lutz Meschke, the chief financial officer at Porsche, previously stated that the company is seeing margins in its EV segment equating with its ICE segment in two years as consumers are willing to pay more for cutting-edge technology. By the end of the decade, the company predicts that eight out of every ten Porsches sold will be electric. Porsche CEO Oliver Blume stated, “Our target is to selectively expand higher-margin segments and to leverage opportunities in electric vehicle pricing.
