Maruti Suzuki To Fix Faulty Airbag of 17,362 Cars
Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest automaker, has recalled 17,362 vehicles to address a probable fault in the airbag controller unit. A malfunctioning airbag controller unit might be found in vehicles built between December 8, 2022, and January 12, 2023. Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno, and Grand Vitara vehicles are impacted.
According to the manufacturer, the flaw might cause the airbags and seat belt pretensioners not to activate in the case of a collision. It has also advised customers not to use suspicious vehicles until the issue is resolved.
“The recall is being done to examine and replace Airbag Controller (“affected part”), free of charge, in certain cars,” Maruti Suzuki stated. It is suspected that a flaw exists in the concerned part, which might result in the non-deployment of the airbags and seat belt pretensioners in the event of a vehicle catastrophe.”
