Two-Wheeler Sales Report January 2022
Bajaj Auto reported overall two-wheeler sales of 3,23,430 units in January 2022, down 16% from 3,84,936 units in the same month the previous year. In the domestic market, Bajaj shipped 1,35,496 two-wheelers in January 2022, a decrease of 14% from 1,57,404 units sent in January 2021. In January 2022, India’s top two-wheeler exporter had a 17 percent drop in global sales. In all, Bajaj Auto exported 1,87,934 two-wheelers to foreign markets in the month, down from 2,27,532 two-wheeler exports a year before.

Bajaj Comercial Vehicle Sales
Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market were steady in January 2022, at 14,160 units, a 6% increase over sales of 13,353 units in the same month the previous year. Bajaj’s commercial vehicle exports were 25,853 units in March, down 6% from 26,910 units in the same month a year earlier.

Bajaj Registers Negative Growth
In January 2022, total Bajaj volumes in the domestic market, comprising motorcycles and commercial vehicles, fell 12% to 1,49,656 units, compared to 1,70,757 units in the same month a year ago. In January 2022, total exports fell by 16 percent to 2,13,787 units, compared to 2,54,442 units in January 2021. In January 2022, overall volumes were recorded as 3,63,443 units, down 15% from 4,25,199 units in January 2021.
Overall commercial vehicle sales increased by 38 percent from April 2021 to January 2022, reaching 3,94,030 units, up from 2,85,252 units the previous year. Total sales, including domestic and export market volumes, increased by 14% from April 2021 to January 2022, reaching 36,95,225 units, up from 32,28,449 units the previous month.
